Kristopher M. Briggs, founder of Great Lakes Law Group, has been practicing law since 2002. With over two decades of legal experience, he brings a depth of knowledge, dedication, and professionalism to every client interaction. Licensed in both Illinois and Wisconsin, Mr. Briggs focuses his practice on real estate and estate planning, serving individuals, families, and business owners with practical, personalized legal solutions.
Mr. Briggs has earned a reputation as a trusted advisor in high-end residential real estate transactions, personally overseeing more than 250 closings each year throughout greater Chicago, its surrounding suburbs, and southern Wisconsin. His hands-on approach, clear communication style, and meticulous attention to detail help clients navigate complex transactions with confidence and clarity. He works directly with property owners, buyers, and sellers to ensure their legal interests are protected every step of the way.
Before founding Great Lakes Law Group, Mr. Briggs built a strong foundation in litigation, gaining comprehensive courtroom experience in both state and federal courts. His prior work included personal injury matters, corporate litigation and criminal defense work throughout the Chicagoland area, giving him a well-rounded perspective and the ability to advocate effectively inside and outside the courtroom.
Mr. Briggs is a proud graduate of Loyola University Chicago, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science in 1999. He went on to earn his Juris Doctor from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 2002. Today, he lives in Arlington Heights, Illinois, with his wife, daughter, and their loyal Golden Retriever, O.B. When he’s not practicing law, he enjoys spending time with family and exploring the many neighborhoods and communities he serves across Illinois and Wisconsin.
